We had to say goodbye to the Fietje's in July, as they went home to Canada for a 6 month furlough. In their absence, we are very aware of just how blessed we are to have them as friends and coworkers here! We miss you Fietjes-come back!

July and August were cold ones, so we had to make a trip to the market for warm hats and scarves. So much to choose from!

Like any true three year old girl, Davy chose a pink/purple combo.

I celebrated a birthday in July, and the fam took me out to a lovely buffet dinner and everything was awesome. (EBC team, you know the one!) Here's what this pregnant birthday girl chose to have for dessert...three types of mousse, a cookie, lemon bread, a cookie bar, and chicken wings.

The mousse was good. So were the chicken wings.

Joining us for the birthday buffet was Uncle Tim and Aunt Carolyn who made the trip from Alberta to come visit us for a couple of weeks! We did lots of fun stuff together, and Dan had a surf buddy while they were here.

The girls had some buddies too.
With Tim and Carolyn we made our first trip to a place called Lomas de Lachay to do some birdwatching. It was green and beautiful and misty and made me feel like I was in the Pacific Northwest again. (Im hoping to write a post about this trip soon.)
In August a former missionary couple came to help us out for a few weeks, and with the wife's amazing help we completed the rest of my sponsorship projects for the year! Not only that, but August also brought us a new Kids Alive missionary, Lisa, who will be taking over my sponsorship job so I can focus on staying home with my kids. She is at language school now but will start with us in January. Yay, yay, yay! Thank you, Lord!
This brings us to September, when sweet Davy Sue celebrated her fourth birthday! Here she is out riding her new pink birthday bike on the boardwalk at the beach. We like to go there to walk and ride. The two older girls are learning to skateboard, and they aren't bad! At least they impress me!
So now you are all caught up on us.  We are thankful for God's many blessings!
